With an existing cottage in place, a boathouse with open concept and all amenities was next on the list for this property near Port Carling in Muskoka. Fitzmaurice Brother’s team designed this classic style boathouse to mirror the original building and create cohesiveness. Double-wide and single slips, as well as ample docks, provide many options for parking a variety of boats.
This boathouse was built on steel docks provided by Coulson Bros. Scow Service, one of our trusted sub-trades. The siding is prefinished “log like” pine siding to match the existing cottage. In addition, the dormers provide natural light into the cathedral ceilings. These ceilings are lined with pine and Muskoka style beam work. The large deck for entertainment is encased with glass lakeside railings to maintain full view, with aluminum spindles down the sides.
The upper level has large matching lakeside windows that flank the entrance door to the 650 square feet of insulated living space. This wonderful space encompasses 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and sitting area with engineered hardwood flooring throughout. An excellent boathouse building project.
